Crowdfunding – Buy a Brick

Drenewydd Actif/Newtown Active Launches Crowdfunding Campaign to Build Inclusive Community Hub

Newtown, UK – Drenewydd Actif/Newtown Active, a group made up of Newtown rugby, cricket and tennis clubs, has launched a crowdfunding campaign to replace their existing changing rooms with a brand new community hub, inclusive changing rooms and gym facilities. The current facility is not fit for purpose to meet the needs of the stakeholders of all the clubs, and the group is looking to raise £75,000 through crowdfunding to help fund the project.

The entire project is estimated to cost more than £500,000, and the group is applying for funding from various groups. The new community hub will have inclusive changing facilities for the diverse members/users of the club, and the group plans to invite more community groups to use the space, as well as engaging the more disadvantaged and vulnerable members of the local community.

“We are excited to launch this crowdfunding campaign to help fund our new community hub,” said a spokesperson for Drenewydd Actif/Newtown Active. “Our current facility is not fit for purpose, and we are looking to create an inclusive and welcoming space for all members of the community. We believe that this project will have a significant impact on the community, and we invite everyone to support us in any way they can.”

The group is offering four simple ways to help them reach their target:

  1. Buy a brick: Donors can buy a brick that will be installed in the upstairs community space in the new changing room. Bricks can be purchased in four packages: Bronze (£125), Silver (£250), Gold (£500), and Platinum (£1,000).
  2. Spread the word: Donors can share the project on their social media pages and encourage others to support the campaign.
  3. Fundraise for us: Donors can set up their own fundraiser, such as a sponsored activity, and use the ‘contact project’ button at the top of the group’s page to let them know.
  4. Make a donation: Donors can make a direct donation to the crowdfunding campaign.
